Mycological Peptone is for use in preparing microbiological culture media in a laboratory setting, and is not intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions in humans.

A mixture of peptones with a high carbohydrate content suitable for the rapid growth and colonial development of yeasts and molds. Bacterial growth is inhibited by the low pH of this peptone.
